La Fagotière is based near Orange, north of the town of Châteauneuf, neighboring the famous vineyards of Château de Beaucastel.  It is a 17-hectares (42 acres) - family-run domaine that is now under the skilful guidance of 5th-generation brother and sister Pascal Chastan and Valérie Leoty.

The family is committed to organic viticulture, with thriving insect life, healthy soils and hence healthy vines being the key objective. 2012is certified “organic”

Soil and Sub soil
The terroir comprises clay over limestone and, in many parts, the galets pebbles and boulders are very much in evidence

45% Grenache noir, Syrah 15 %, 40 % Mourvèdre

Vinification and Aging
Hand harvest with very careful selection of the grapes.Traditional vinification in concrete and stainless steel thermo-regulated vats. Each plot is vinified separately A five- to seven-day fermentation takes place using whole berries for extra fruitiness, with daily pump -overs.
