A slightly tannic, full-bodied but supple wine with a beautiful fruit and a good ability to age. To taste over red meats, sheep and cheeses.

LOCATION: The estate, owned by Michel Brunet is located in the heart of Margaux, on a beautiful soil amongst some Classified Growths such as Rauzan Gassies and Marquis de Terme. A parcel even abuts Château Margaux. The vineyard was created in 1928 by Mr Ferdinand Brunet, current owner’s great-grand father who worked as cooper in Château Margaux and progressively bought to Château Palmer and Durfort, their most beautiful parcel, located on the plateau of Margaux . The name Barraillots comes from barrails that means the small fences surrounding the parcels.

VINEYARD AREA: 6 hectares

SOIL: Gravely hilltops.

GRAPE VARIETIES: 50 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 40 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

HARVESTING: Green harvest, leaf-removals, cut at 8 bunches by vine. Mecanical at optimal ripeness.

WINEMAKING: Sorting out on a table. Traditional winemaking in stainless steel and cement vats, temperature control of the fermentation.

AGEING: During 15 to 18 months in barrels of which 25% are new.

PRODUCTION: About 40.000 bottles per year
