WINE ESTATE
Chateau Sainte-Marie is a property of the Abbey of La Sauve Majeure (one of the most ancient French abbey, located at 4 kms of the Chateau).
Located at the centre of the Entre-Deux-Mers, Sainte-Marie has an optimal geographical location. The ideally exposed islets spread on two perfectly sunny hills, among the highest points of the Gironde.
WINE-MAKING
Traditional vinification. Each grape – variety is picked up by hand and separated for fermentation. Maceration for 5 weeks with a soft extraction.
MATURATION
Ageing in French oak barrels for 12 months
TASTING NOTES
A lovely dense ruby colour. Elegant floral scents with a hint of blackcurrant and black cherry on the nose. Pure, ample and concentrated with a nicely mellow woodiness in the mouth. Supple finish
